VR12–Whimsies Attic

Consider:

  • Whether you have met your production goals so far
  • What aspects you will address in post-production
  • What feedback or testing will be useful and if you can use this crit to gain these insights
  • what has changed through problem solving

We had been discussed and finally settled on making the hub, painting and music box for the final hand-in with Rosaire. This is reflecting showing we are all putting into efforts for the hub: (it is a mixture of our sounds lol, it is looking so good) Bedroom

Painting:Maria and Ben mainly responsible for this painting scene, I did some realistic sounds for it, but it went to a bit scifi at last…

Music box: I am mainly responsible for this scene, as it is mainly just music part, the foundation melody credited to Rysia

There are things being very crucial and kinda of last minute like the computer scene by Clara and the introduction scene by Rosaire. I have lots of question marks on my head… We cant produce something sososo last minute? The book scene is being removed because the visual people dont think they will have time for it. Which is fine, we could focus more on other scenes.

CRIT Preparation:You can choose to:

  1. share a video playback (bring on a USB formatted at MS DOS FAT)
  2. share your unity project by sideloading the project onto an Oculus headset
  3. Prepare your group project for playback via a computer in M104 and headset

Here are some critical feedbacks after the crit: (hope I am not mooning)

I am not sure if I know that we are supposed to finish mixing into this stage. It is becoming stressful for the sake of the uneven distribution of people in our group. Rosaire is the only reliable person at this stage and we only have her computer work once a time. Her project needs a high CPU demanding means it would only work if we use her computer to mix. And yes, I assume and accept the truth that people have different time and workflows, so it might be worth to set out a plan, but well, we are a disorganised group. But I think everything we have done so far is appreciated and useful as a whole.

The sound is actually sounding better in her computer, but for the last minute reason, we didnt examine if the screenshot video has sounds in it. It is always been an issue in an industry, explaining about how visual people doesnt care about sound haha.

I think the narrative journey of our whole game which involves a lot of fantasy speaks to our mixture of personal childhood and dreams, the environmental issue which was been demonstrated, is a ‘good’ point.

I think we need to focus more on ‘sonic clues’ and the cat should be amending. And I am quite stressful with the music box scene as well. How could I make that sound a bit real in the hall?
