The album part is basically finished, well there are few more bits need to be solved which I am planning to do it before the winter holiday:
To sum up:
1.Prologue (Recording Acoustic Zheng, Erhu, Yangqin from musicians, Using virtual instruments with loads of automation on expression, modulation and velocity)
2.Childhood—Absurd (Me Playing organ pipe on F Minor)
3.Ascend the throne—Mediating and overwhelmed (Recording Buddhism Try Praying in ChengXiangGe for 4 hours and cutting down in 27 mins)
4.Distance—Lost (A collective of voices (experimental choir) from friends and strangers explore the same melody on A minor, Me Playing head pan and singing bowls, Recording Acoustic Guqin) The allusion comes from Xin Qiji’s , Having searched for her hundreds and thousands of times in the crowd, suddenly you turn back, and she is there by the dim light.
5.Lost Moon—Excited (Audio drama: a story with a story: Puyi is getting married with Empress Wanrong in the forbidden city, watching the opera and dancing, while there is a war happening out side the forbidden city.)
- Escape—Relief (Recording my mum riding a horse, Using virtual instruments with loads of automation on expression, modulation and velocity)
- Extinguish—Resigned and Depressed (Me Playing organ pipe on A Minor)
- New Man—Ruled (Recoding toys and modulated on the field kit synth, sampling Chinese national music)
- Clouds—History has an eye on you (Me playing organ pipe, Recording Manchu voices, improvised voices from singer chen)
The visual part, which we would be thinking of the stage: It is quite ambitious to make a big stage with these laser cutting and actually my home is not that big… I have cad files with me so I am planning to networking with factories in London to see if they could cut this for me… I would like to keep the layers of doors because in the real time performance we could play with the doors…
As a company with the album, I am interested to edit a documentary film to simply explain what historical events were happening…
The robotic part, is also happily gonna to be finished. I am also considering in make a shadow puppetry and directing a dance performance to go with it…
